Biography
Jane Ford received a BA in Art Education, Printmaking & Painting
from University of California and Colorado State University. Currently
she is a member of the Oil Painters of America and the Art students
League of Denver.
Her figurative work was featured in Southwest Art November 2007,
Art Values Start Your Collection. She was awarded the Oil Painters
of America Shirl Smithson Memorial Scholarship in 2006. Her work
was shown in the Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition
in 2004 and Oil Painters of America Regional Exhibitions in 2005
& 2007 as well as the Salon International at the Greehouse Gallery
in San Antonio in 2008. Her work is included in the permanent collection
of the Children’s Hospital of Denver, Guaranty Bank of Denver
as well as private collectors.
Jane is currently working on a project involving the Tarahumara
Indians of Mexico. The Raumari (or running people) as the Tarahumara
Indians call themselves, are an ancient tribe who have inhabited
the Copper Canyon of Mexico for many centuries. In recent years
drought conditions have been devastating to their population. She
has had the privilege of building relationships with some families.
These paintings and many more will be used in fundraising events.
